The Experiences

Burgundy Premier Cru wine tasting

Four Burgundy Premiers Crus, presented by the wine merchant himself, in his cellar in the heart of Semur-en-Auxois.

An experience reserved for our guests. Born of a collaboration between L'Oenothèque and Maison Jazey, it unlocks with your stay.

We don't send you off to an anonymous tasting. You push open the door of L'Oenothèque, a five-minute walk from the house, and you are welcomed by the wine merchant — the very person who chose each bottle, knows the growers, and tells the story of each wine the way you tell a story.

Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune — Burgundy's two great terroirs, served side by side. A flight of four Premiers Crus you rarely meet together, even in a good restaurant. You taste, you listen, you compare. No clock-watching, no set menu, no pretension.

The Partner

L'Oenothèque, in the heart of Semur.

L'Oenothèque is the town-centre wine cellar. An intimate shop, a sharp selection, no snobbery. The wine merchant presents the wines himself — and that is what sets a tasting apart from a lecture.

He opens four bottles for two to four guests. He tells the story of the appellation, the vintage, the grower. He lets the glasses do the talking. At the end, if one wine has especially won you over, it is there to buy in the shop — most often at a gentler price than the by-the-glass bill.

The Flight

Four Premiers Crus, side by side.

The selection changes with the deliveries and the seasons, but the principle stays the same: three reds from the great côtes and one renowned white. Each poured into its own glass, with no mixing and no fixed order. The wine merchant builds the flight around a thread — a grape variety, a vintage, a geography.

The format stays intimate: 2 to 4 people, never more. No coach party, no neighbour hogging the conversation. An interlude that is yours, with time to taste, to set the glass down, to come back to it. About ninety minutes, in the quiet of the cellar.

Booked through the House's concierge service — we set the appointment with the wine merchant to suit your wishes and your schedule. The cellar is open Tuesday to Saturday (and Sunday mornings); closed on Monday.

The Experience

You don't just taste a Premier Cru — you listen to it, especially when it's poured by the very person who chose it.
