Data we collect and why
We only collect the data needed to manage your stay:
- Online booking: first and last name, email address, phone number, stay dates and party composition, and any special requests. Your phone country code is used solely to choose the language (French or English) of your confirmation emails. No postal address is requested online: the individual police form, required for foreign guests under French law, is completed at check-in.
- Payment: payments are processed entirely by our secure payment provider, Stripe. Your card number never passes through our servers and is never stored by us.
- Correspondence: messages exchanged by email or phone are used only to answer your requests and prepare your stay.
- Guest register: as required by French tourist-tax regulations (art. L.2333-34 CGCT), we keep a register of stays containing the information required by the local authority.
These processing activities are based on the performance of the booking contract, on our legal obligations (accounting, tourist tax, police form) and on our legitimate interest in answering your requests. We send no marketing communications without your consent, and we never sell or rent your data to third parties.
Cookieless analytics
Site traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a tool that works without cookies and without identifying visitors — no consent banner is needed. The site uses no advertising cookies or third-party trackers; fonts are self-hosted. Your browser locally keeps a few strictly technical items (for instance your booking summary, used to display the confirmation page); they are never transmitted to us.
Recipients and processors
Your data is accessible only to the authorised staff of Maison Jazey and to our technical processors, each strictly for its own purpose: Stripe (secure payment), Beds24 (reservation management software), Brevo (transactional emails and SMS), Google Workspace (correspondence) and Cloudflare (website hosting and analytics). Bookings made through third-party platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia) are also governed by those platforms' own privacy policies.
Retention
Booking and invoicing data is kept for the periods required by our legal, accounting and tax obligations, then deleted. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept only as long as needed to handle the request.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port the data concerning you. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected] — we will answer within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
